This page explains what cookies gymtr.ee uses and why. We use two categories of cookies: essential cookies required for the site to work, and optional analytics cookies that help us understand how the site is used.
Cookies are small text files that a website stores on your device. They're used for things like keeping you logged in between page visits, remembering preferences, or understanding traffic patterns. You can choose which optional cookies to allow via the consent banner shown on your first visit.
When you log in, Supabase — the authentication provider we use — sets session cookies so that you stay logged in as you navigate the site. Without these cookies the site cannot function for logged-in users.
These cookies:
Once you make a cookie choice via the consent banner, we store a small cookie (gymtree_consent) on your device to remember your preference for one year so you are not shown the banner on every visit.
If you accept analytics cookies, we use the following third-party tools to understand how the site is used:
Tracks page views and traffic patterns. Data is anonymised and processed by Vercel. No personal identifiers are stored. You can read Vercel's privacy policy at vercel.com/legal/privacy-policy.
Measures real-world page performance (Core Web Vitals). Also anonymised and processed by Vercel under the same privacy policy.
In addition to cookies, we record certain events server-side to power our analytics dashboard for profile owners. Specifically:
These events do not set any cookies on your device. We hash your IP address before storing it — the raw IP is never persisted — and use it only to deduplicate counts (e.g. prevent one person inflating a view count). Aggregate counts are shown to the profile owner in their analytics dashboard.
You can update your cookie preferences at any time. If you have an account, use the Cookie preferences button in the dashboard sidebar. Otherwise, clear your gymtr.ee cookies in your browser settings and reload — the consent banner will reappear. Note that blocking necessary cookies will prevent you from logging in.
If we introduce new cookies we will update this page and show the consent banner again to registered users before those cookies are set.
